Born in Germany, Maria has lived in England, New Jersey, New York and North Carolina. Retiring in 1989, she moved, with her husband Tom, to Cedar Key.

With a full career, she has always found time to be involved in her artistic passion either learning or creating.

She works in oils, acrylic, pen and ink, pastels and watercolors. Her themes usually revolve around nature including seascapes, trees, birds and flowers. She also creates works in crochet.
